Demi Lovato ‘Confident’

I seldom call celebrities my role model, just because they can change their behavior in a split second and then the whole world can see their mistake (i.e. Justin Bieber).

But Demi Lovato is definitely one of my few role models.

The reason why I see her as a role model is just because she is so strong, and so open to her mistakes. She’s sincere to her fans and is all about building up the confidence of her fans through her own life experiences.

Let’s be real though, Cool for the Summer may not be like that. And for a second, I was doubting her. But then I heard this song, understood the message and I realized that my love and respect for her was all justified.

She is confident.

She accepts herself for all her flaws, her past mistakes (but doesn’t dwell on them), and believes her abilities to be not only a good human being, but also a good role model.

In this song, I feel that she is singing towards all her haters. She repeats the phrase, “What’s wrong with being confident?” And the answer? Nothing is wrong with being confident!

There is just always some people who tear that confidence down. But in the end it is always going to be up to YOU to know who is holding you up, and who is bringing you down.

So go be you. Be your confident self. Because the world and the people you love will live off that energy. The world will be a better place if we are all confident, if we all believe in ourselves.

Favourite Lyrics:

(Ah ha) What’s wrong with being, what’s wrong with being
What’s wrong with being confident? (Ah ha)
What’s wrong with being, what’s wrong with being
What’s wrong with being confident? (Ah ha)
What’s wrong with being, what’s wrong with being
What’s wrong with being confident? (Ah ha)
What’s wrong with being, what’s wrong with being
What’s wrong with being confident? (Ah ha)

(As repetitive as it is above, after listening to that part over and over again, you definitely gain a sense of confidence.)

As always, don’t forget to SM:)LE today!
