Tarte Cosmetics ‘Tartelette’ Palette Review

This palette is gorgeous.

I was never a huge eyeshadow person just because I think it’s a lot of added work to the make up routine, and it would make it more expensive because you need the extra brushes and such.

But, I saw this, and I knew I had to try it. 20150301_170639

My first impression of this palette when I opened it is… “wow, that’s small.”

Which I soon began to fall in love with because it’s so compact.

Now, let’s start with the base colors on the very left.

I love them all. All the base colors cancel the blueness of discoloration on your eyelids. It really preps your eyelid for a good amount of color. I really have no complaint about these colors. Even the baby pink is a beautiful color. Because I have yellow toned skin, it barely shows up, but it’s a few ethereal color.

The second column are what I would call the crease colors.

I usually add in my crease colors after my base and they are all so soft. There is very little else I can say about them.

Now, the 3 column from the left is a great corner of the eye color. When I’m wearing make up for the day I usually put those colors on the corner of my eye and then blend them in.

The last column is the column that Tarte Cometics said would be a great eyeshadow on top of eyeliner color. I really disagree with that. I think these colors are the perfect colors for those outer corner. They really add so much definition. I even use some of the colors on a daily basis.

These eyeshadows truly blend like a dream and are so easy to use. As an eyeshadow amateur it barely took any trial and error. I kind of just got it. Of course, I watched a lot of tutorials so I knew the really basics, but even then, a lot of these colors are beautiful.

This palette is set out to give you three different eye shadow looks, but I love to mix and match, even the more purple colors.

All the colors complement each other beautiful and you cannot go wrong with putting one color with the other.

The palette gives amateurs like myself a good chance to experience eye shadow but also a very fool proof way.

If I was to have complaints, I would only say these two things.

1. If you do not use an eye primer, it creases.

2. If you do use an eye primer, it will stop creasing. But the color pigmentation does decrease over time. It isn’t as pigmented but it somehow manages to blend itself out into a nice ombre effect. But, the good thing is that if you want to touch up, it’s very simple and doesn’t require a lot of work.

I would say that this palette is the perfect palette for anyone who is beginning with eye shadow. It’s so easy to use and is just, a dream. I always thought it would take me forever to do eye shadow, but with the palette it takes no time at all.

Also, I must tell you all, that I was choosing between this palette and the Lorac Pro. But I chose this one ultimately because there was much less fall out. I was swatching both palettes at Ulta, and the Lorac Pro has so much fall out! It was so powdery and I really didn’t like that. This palette has much less fall out, and it feels a lot more creamier under my finger tips. Plus, I’m not a huge fan of glitter eye shadow so this palette is even more perfect! (Of course, I would branch out eventually.)

I recommend this palette 100%. I have never not liked any Tarte products. I fell like Tarte is one of the few beauty brands that can do no wrong.

P.S.I would actually buy this on QVC as well because you get a very nice quality dual ended eye shadow brush that makes this palette even more worth it!
